Buenos días 🙂 ¿Qué tal? La verdad es que esta semana se me ha pasado volando y es que ya este fin de semana pasamos al horario de invierno, la semana que viene termina octubre y en un abrir y cerrar de ojos estamos en Navidad. Así que he decidido que no me puede pasar lo mismo que el año pasado, y esta vez sí, tengo que terminar octubre leyendo este gran pendiente.
Nueva lectura con Drácula de Bram Stoker
Las de Bram Stoker y Jonathan Harker fueron vidas paralelas. Stoker era el secretario particular de Henry Irving, un reputado actor shakespeariano y propietario del Lyceum Theatre de Londres; Harker, el del enigmático conde Drácula, quien lo convocó a su castillo de Transilvania para negociar la adquisición de una mansión en Londres. No es casual que el personaje de Drácula se inspire en las facciones e idiosincrasia de Irving, ni que Stoker hiciese una lectura pública en el Lyceum Theatre días antes de su edición. Drácula es la novela vampírica por antonomasia. En ella se concitan los grandes ejes temáticos del subgénero: la lucha entre el bien y el mal y la sexualidad del vampiro, con una estética victoriana y un despliegue estilístico abrumador. Todo ello la convierte en un clásico incontestable e imperecedero.
